Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Day Loop handles accounts, voice input, optional Google Calendar sync, subscriptions, advertising, and related app data.
Last updated: March 13, 2026
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information: Day Loop supports sign-in using email/password and Google Sign-In through Firebase Authentication.
Depending on how you sign in, we may process your name, email address, authentication provider information, and Firebase user ID.
We use this information to authenticate your account and provide account-based features.
1.2 Audio Data: Day Loop requests microphone access to support voice input.
When you use voice input, the App temporarily records audio on your device, sends audio data to Google Gemini through Firebase AI for speech or audio transcription and task parsing, and then deletes the temporary local audio file after processing.
We do not store raw audio recordings on our own servers.
1.3 Task and App Data: Day Loop stores task data, habit data, app settings, and related sync metadata locally on your device using local storage such as SQLite and SharedPreferences.
1.4 Google Calendar Data: If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Day Loop requests access to Google Calendar Events data to create, update, and delete calendar events that mirror your tasks.
We request only the Google Calendar scope necessary for this feature: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events
This feature is optional and user-controlled.
In the current implementation, only upcoming tasks within the next 30 days are synced to Google Calendar.
1.5 Subscription Verification Data: If you purchase or restore a subscription on Android, Day Loop may process subscription verification data such as your Firebase authentication token, app package name, product ID, and Google Play purchase token in order to verify entitlement and prevent fraud.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to authenticate users and manage accounts, provide voice-based task creation, transcribe and interpret voice input using Google Gemini through Firebase AI, store and manage tasks, habits, reminders, and preferences, create, update, and delete mirrored Google Calendar events when users enable calendar sync, verify premium subscription entitlement, display ads through Google AdMob, and maintain app security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
3. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share information only as needed to operate the App, including with Firebase Authentication for account authentication, Google Sign-In for optional Google account sign-in, Firebase AI or Google Gemini for audio transcription and task parsing, Google Calendar API for optional calendar sync requested by the user, Google Play Billing and Firebase backend services for subscription verification, and Google AdMob for advertising.
We do not use Google user data obtained through Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or machine learning models.
4. Data Protection
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data handled by the App.
These measures include HTTPS or TLS encryption for network requests, Firebase Authentication for secure account authentication, Firebase App Check to help protect supported backend services, and limited Google API access scopes only where needed for user-requested features.
5. Google User Data
If you choose to connect Google Calendar, Day Loop uses Google user data only to provide the calendar sync feature requested by you.
Specifically, Google Calendar data is used only to create mirrored calendar events for synced tasks, update those events when synced tasks change, and delete mirrored events when synced tasks are removed or unsynced.
Day Loop does not use Google Calendar data for advertising or sale to third parties.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
6.1 Audio Data: Voice recordings are temporarily stored on-device during recording and are deleted from temporary local storage after processing.
We do not store raw voice recordings on our own servers.
6.2 Local App Data: Tasks, habits, settings, and related app data are primarily stored locally on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
6.3 Google Calendar Data: Day Loop does not maintain a separate long-term server-side archive of your Google Calendar event content for the calendar sync feature.
If you revoke Google Calendar access, Day Loop can no longer access your Google Calendar data.
6.4 Account Deletion: The App provides an in-app account deletion flow. In the current implementation, account deletion attempts to unsync mirrored calendar events on a best-effort basis, clear local task data associated with the user on the device, and delete the Firebase Authentication account.
6.5 Subscription Verification Records: Subscription verification and purchase ownership records may be retained for operational, fraud-prevention, verification, and recordkeeping purposes until they are no longer needed.
7. Children's Privacy
Day Loop is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
